Introdeuce ("we", "us") runs the Introdeuce app for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to the app and to this website.
The short version: we collect what is needed to verify that you are a real adult and to help you have good conversations. Your profile is anonymous by design. Calls are never recorded. Your government ID, if you upload one, is deleted once it has been checked. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address, to sign you in with a one-time code and to contact you about your account.
- Date of birth, to confirm that you are 18 or over. Introdeuce is for adults only.
- Verification details. Either a work or university email address on a domain we recognise, or a photo of a government-issued ID that our team reviews.
- Profile details: a username, your interests, languages, a one-line intro, your current conversation mood, your time zone and when you are usually free. Profiles do not include photos or your real name.
- Messages and voice notes you send to your connections, and private notes you keep for yourself.
- Ratings and reports. Private ratings you give after a call, and any reports you make about another member, including the reason you write.
- Support messages you send us by email.
Information created as you use the app
- Activity such as connection requests, scheduled calls, call times and outcomes, connections and blocks.
- A trust score that we work out from ratings, reports and how you use the app. It is never shown to other members and helps keep the community safe.
- Device and notification data: a push notification token and your notification preferences.
- Crash and performance reports: device model, operating system, app version, the screen in use and technical error details. We configure these reports to exclude your IP address, email address and message content.
- Purchase status: whether you have an active Premium subscription. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
What we do not collect
- We do not record voice calls.
- We do not collect your precise location, contacts or photo library.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps and websites.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
- To confirm that you are 18 or over and that you are who you say you are.
- To suggest people who share your interests, languages, mood and availability.
- To run calls, messages, reminders and notifications.
- To keep the community safe: reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms of Use, and suspending accounts that break them.
- To provide Premium features you pay for.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
- To reply when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. What other members see
Other members see your username, interests, languages, one-line intro and current mood. They do not see your email, date of birth, verification documents, ratings or trust score. You can turn off "Appear in discovery" at any time. Anything more about yourself is shared only when you and the other person both choose to reveal it.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only to provide their service:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, database and encrypted file storage.
- Brevo: sending sign-in codes and account emails.
- 100ms: connecting voice calls in real time. Calls are not recorded.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service: delivering notifications.
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google: processing and confirming subscriptions.
- Sentry: crash and performance reports, without personal identifiers.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
5. How long we keep it
- Government ID images are deleted as soon as a verification decision is made.
- Voice notes are deleted 30 days after they are sent.
- Everything else is kept while your account is open and deleted when you delete your account.
- If an account is deleted while it is suspended for breaking our rules, we keep a one-way hash of its email address, together with the reason, so the same person cannot simply sign up again. The hash does not let us recover the email address.
- Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis, and support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. ID images are stored privately and encrypted, uploaded directly from your device, and never made public. Sign-in codes are stored only as secure hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can see and edit your profile in the app, or ask us for a copy of your data.
- Deletion. Delete your account in the app under You → Delete account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page.
- Notifications. Choose which notifications you get, and set quiet hours, in the app.
- Visibility. Turn off "Appear in discovery" to take a break.
- Withdraw consent or raise a concern by emailing us. Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have further rights, and you can complain to your data protection authority.
8. Adults only
Introdeuce is strictly for people aged 18 and over. We check age at sign-up and again at verification. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where they do, we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
11. Contact us
